ANCIENT CRAFTS

Over the last 20 years ESAMP has developed an expertise in a wide range of ancient crafts and technologies. ESAMP runs courses in ancient crafts at our sites at Michelham Priory and the Bentley Wild Fowl and Motor Museum. Some of these courses are accredited through the Centre for Continuing Education at Sussex University. We have a team of highly skilled archaeological tutors who lead this work.
Areas include:

Flint Knapping, Bronze Casting, Early Firemaking, Textiles, Ceramics, Boat building, Woodworking, Early Cooking Techniques, Hide Working, Cordage and Building Technologies.
